As gatekeepers of their child's educational and social needs, parents are the logical champions for their children who struggle to learn. However, research shows that parents overwhelmingly adopt a "wait and see" attitude when their child exhibits a learning difficulty, sometimes waiting a year or more before seeking assistance. Many parents remain paralyzed by emotions of guilt and fear, by the daunting task of finding appropriate information and resources, and from uncertainty about how to proceed. enables parents to become informed consumers of information about learning and attention problems and effective advocates for their children by providing trustworthy information and guidance in an online environment of compassion and community. offers more than 350 articles drawing on the work of recognized authorities, current studies and leading institutions in the fields of learning, child development, education and psychology. Message boards provide a sense of community and allow parents to interact, ask questions, voice opinions and share personal experiences.

Our research also reveals that there is a continuum or "journey" that parents experience as they become aware of and acknowledge their child's learning difficulties. Each new developmental and academic stage presents a new set of challenges.
